Red Feather Friends
United Way’s Red Feather Friends program honours the loyalty of those who have supported United Way for more than 25 years. The red feather was adopted in 1949 as a national symbol of united fundraising and community building. At that time, donors often wore a red feather during the annual fundraising campaign to show their commitment toward united humanitarian giving. Today, these dedicated individuals represent our foundation, uniting for change to build a stronger, more inclusive and caring community. We are proud to recognize our new Red Feather Friends annually with a special event.

Legacy Circle

We are very thankful for our donors with forethought and generosity who have committed to a future gift to United Way, including a bequest, life insurance or charitable trust. We are pleased to honour these donors as members of our Legacy Circle. Recognition is optional and tailored to each individual donor’s wishes, and may include the following:

  • Recognition as a Legacy Circle member in publications including our Donor Wall.
  • Invitations to special events for Legacy Circle members.
  • Invitations to other special events and private functions.
  • Annual impact updates (i.e. our Community Outcomes Report)

Our Sponsors
United Way is thankful for the companies that sponsor our events, print collateral and initiatives as well as those who provide advertising space and in-kind services. Thanks to our sponsors, United Way can ensure that donor dollars go towards important programs and services in our community.

Donor Wall
Our Donor Wall annually recognizes those who give at the Philanthropist Circle to Community Hero levels.

We thank all our donors who lead the way in their workplaces and in our community! Behind every gift is a story – read about what inspires some of our dedicated donors and see the difference you can make to change lives locally.
