The Red Feather was adopted nationally in 1949 as a symbol of united fund raising and as a symbol of service. Originally used as a badge of courage, the red feather symbolizes voluntary giving and community-building. It was very common to see long-time donors wearing a red feather during the annual campaign to show they are participating in a united humanitarian movement.

Thank you to all our Red Feather Friends for attending our tea at Government House on July 18, 2011. Special thanks to our event sponsor CIBC and Bruce Williams from A British Columbia, Gregg Eligh from www.elighphoto.com and musicians Carolyn Tsao & Eehjoon Kwon from the Conservatory of Music.
