United Way and The Bay Centre team up for Community Campaign kick off and installation
The Bay Centre’s community partnership mandate focuses on relationships with local stakeholders and leading non-profit community organizations who contribute to strengthening the health and wellness of the downtown community. In 2016, The Bay Centre donated over $1.19 million through the shopping centre’s partnership program with the majority being in-centre space and third party fundraisers hosted at The Bay Centre.
After moving to the downtown core in January 2017, United Way reached out to one of their new neighbours – The Bay Centre – to see about the possibility of working together on their 2017 community campaign kick-off event. Since that time a wonderful partnership has flourished and United Way is proud to announce The Bay Centre will be hosting our 80th anniversary kick off in their centre court on September 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 2:30pm. A special announcement will be made about bc211 during the event.
As the backdrop to the festivities – United Way and The Bay Centre are encouraging guests to be the “I” in UNITED to enter to win a $1000 Bay Centre gift card and $1000 for the charity of your choice! From September 18 to October 8, 2017, snap a photo of yourself as the ‘I’ in the larger than life UNITED letters in centre court of The Bay Centre and share it on social media for your chance to win.
United Way would like to thank The Bay Centre for the opportunity to showcase their brand and the work they are doing in the community through this creative installation for three weeks and look forward to building upon our partnership long into the future.
